BSE's Certification on International Financial Reporting Standards (BCIFRS)

BSE Institute Ltd. conducts a test of 100 marks consisting of 60 questions. The questions are objective type having multiple choices, with a provision of negative marks for wrong answers.

BCIFRS is awarded to only those candidates who obtain a minimum of 60% marks. There is no minimum eligibility criterion for taking the test.

To educate the participants on increasing planning opportunities through awareness of IFRS, including prospects for global convergence of major national accounting standards.

This certification is intended to evaluate your competency in IFRS, therefore we do not want to restrict your preparation to a pre-defined course material. Hence no course material will be provided for the certification.

International sources of authority
  • The structure of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), The standard setting process, The role of the International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee, Progress towards international harmonization, The accounting framework, The first time adoption of international financial reporting standards

    • Elements of financial statements
  • Property, plant and equipment, Intangible assets, Goodwill, Current assets including inventories, Construction contracts, Liabilities, Financial instruments, Provisions and contingencies, Employment and post-employment benefits, Current and deferred tax, Biological assets and agricultural produce, Share-based payment, Exploration and evaluation expenditures

    • Presentation and additional disclosures
  • Events after the reporting date, Earnings per share, Related party disclosures, Interim financial reporting, Effects of changes in foreign exchange rates, Operating segments

    • Preparation of external financial reports for combined entities and joint ventures
  • Definitions of subsidiaries, investments in associates and joint ventures, Preparation of consolidated statements of financial position, income statements, statements of comprehensive income and statements of changes in equity, Equity accounting, Proportionate consolidation and joint venture

    • Investment Bankers, Equity Analyst, Corporate, Banks, Mutual Funds, Broking Houses, Financial Institutions, Fund Managers, Equity Trader, Strategist, Consultants, High Net worth Investors other capital market intermediaries, Students & Retail Investors

    Candidates interested in taking the test at any of the centres i.e Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi and Kolkata can make online payment of Rs. 1,150/- through BSE payment gateway by using Credit Card / Debit Card. Candidate can also approach the respective centres with a DD of Rs.1,150/- drawn in favour of “BSE Institute Ltd.” payable at the respective Centre.

    Fees once paid will not be refunded, validity period for the Fees would be 180 days from the date of the payment.
